Casablanca to Rabat day trip is part of our Casablanca day trips and is one day trip to the capital of Morocco in which we will discover the beauty and the importance of this imperial city that rests along the Bouregreg River and the Atlantic Ocean. The ville nouvelle's palm-lined boulevards are clean, well-kept and relatively free of traffic – a blessed relief for those who have spent time in Casablanca. There's a clean central beach, an intact and evocative kasbah, and an attractive walled medina that is far less touristy than those in other large cities. All in all, the city is a good choice for a short sojourn. Our Casablanca to Rabat day trip departs from Casablanca early in the morning, our professional, experienced and multilingual driver will pick you up from your hotel in one of our comfortable, luxury and air conditioned cars. Upon arrival in Rabat, you will visit some of its most important sights and monuments that provide the imperial city with its charm like Hassan Tower (Le Tour Hassan) which is towering above the Bou Regreg estuary and surrounded by well-tended gardens, this 44m tower is Rabat’s most prominent landmark.
It was originally part of an ambitious Almohad project to build the world's second-largest mosque (after Samarra in Iraq), but its patron Sultan Yacoub Al Mansour died before the building was complete. The mosque was destroyed by an earthquake in 1755, and today only this tower and a forest of shattered pillars testifies to the grandiosity of Al Mansour’s plans. With our Casablanca to Rabat day trip, we will also visit the famous Udayas Kasbahs which is a historic citadel occupies the site of the original ribat (fortress-monastery) that gave the city its name. Predominately residential, its narrow streets are lined with whitewashed houses – most of which were built by Muslim refugees from Spain. There are scenic views over the river and ocean from the Plateforme du Sémaphore at its highest point, and the attractive Andalusian Gardens at its southern edge are a popular relaxation and meeting point for locals. Chellah is also a site to visit in our Casablanca to Rabat day trip, it testifies to the previous inhabitants of the great city with its scattered stones and the walls that were built on top of the roman ruins during the Merinid dynasty’s rule.
The medina of Rabat is was built on an orderly grid in the 17th century. It is much smaller and much calmer than the one in Fes but still large enough to make getting lost inevitable. The main market street is Rue Souika, with local shopping on its western stretch and shops geared largely to tourists in the covered Souq As Sebbat to its east. During our Casablanca to Rabat day trip, we will also provide you with chance to visit the enthralling and rich museums of Rabat like the Archeology museum, the museum of modern and contemporary arts and the Moroccan museum of money.
After discovering the beautiful city of Rabat and enjoying a full day tour in its beautiful monuments and interesting museums, we will hit the road back to Casablanca where our driver will drop you off at your hotel marking the end of this mesmerizing Casablanca day trips.
